Kenya Airways has announced that it will operate special repatriation flights between Nairobi and Dubai on March 4 and 5, following limited operational clearance at Dubai International Airport.
In a customer update issued on Wednesday, the national carrier said it will operate a Nairobi–Dubai repatriation flight on March 4 and a Dubai–Nairobi service on March 5 after receiving slot approvals from Dubai Airport Management.
The flights follow guidance from authorities in the United Arab Emirates, allowing a small number of aircraft movements strictly for repatriation purposes beginning March 2.
The airline clarified that these are not part of its regular scheduled services but are designated repatriation flights targeting customers who are citizens or residents of the UAE seeking to travel from Nairobi, and vice versa.
Kenya Airways advised passengers in Dubai not to proceed to the airport until they receive confirmed departure details directly from the airline.
It also urged affected customers to regularly check their flight status via the airline’s official website and update their contact information through the “Manage Booking” portal to ensure direct communication on schedule confirmations.
“As this is a developing situation, we have not resumed scheduled operations to Dubai,” the airline said in the statement, adding that further updates will be provided once additional approvals are received from UAE authorities.
The carrier apologised for the inconvenience caused and reiterated that the safety of its crew and customers remains its highest priority.
It said affected passengers will receive direct communication and necessary assistance.
Customers requiring further support have been advised to contact the airline’s Customer Excellence Team through its published phone and WhatsApp numbers or via its official social media support channel.
The temporary arrangement comes amid ongoing operational adjustments at Dubai International Airport, with limited slots currently available exclusively for repatriation flights.
Kenya Airways indicated that a confirmed schedule for regular services will be shared once full clearance is granted.
